WILDERNESS FESTIVAL 2012 PREVIEW

The award winning Wilderness Festival returns to Cornbury Estate for its second year.

Curated by the producers of Secret Garden Party and Lovebox Festival, the festival boasts an incredible musical lineup with the likes of Rodrigo y Gabriela accompanied by orchestra C.U.B.A in a UK festival exclusive. Also on the lineup are alternative rock heroes Wilco, Spiritualized, Stornoway, British soul sensation Lianne La Havas and Australian four-piece Cloud Control. Other bands to see at the festival Giant Giant Sand, Grant Lee Buffalo, Jenny OField Music, Fatoumata Diawara, Milagres and To Kill a King.

What must be pointed out is that Wilderness offers an alternative and innovative festival experience. This is not the type of festival that overcharges for a rubbery burger and chips. Wilderness prides itself in its quality food available for festival goers. This year the festival invites Yotam Ottolenghi to headline and curate one of three sumptuous food feasts!  Michelin Star chef Fergus Henderson will be providing the ingredients for feast number two. Completing the set is nature lover Valentine Warner who will be sourcing the ingredients for his veritable feast from a  three-mile radius of the Wilderness festival site. Expect lavish three course banquets served on long communal tables in stunning surroundings.

The fun doesn’t stop there though! One of last year’s biggest highlights, The Old Vic will be back to host a wild masked
ball bringing together incredible performance and an outlandish party deep in the
woods.

And after you have fed your stomach and mind, why not relax the body with The Wilderness Spa? Set alongside the beautiful lakes, it will offer festival-goers hot tubs, a champagne bar, saunas and massages.

A new addition for 2012 is The Healing Herb Garden, which can be found nestled in the woods amongst saves of lavender and geranium galore offering a safe haven of restorative treatments and workshops.

So if you’re tired of larger festival experience and are looking for a festival ticket that offers you a whole lot more than live music then give Wilderness Festival a go this year! Just Another Magazine went last year and we guarantee that Wilderness will be the highlight of your 2012 summer! Read our review here.
