Beatherder has, aside from a famously good vibe (and notoriously hedonistic) atmosphere, also one of the most promising line-ups of the whole UK festival circuit this summer. Featuring the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Groove Armada and Booka Shade in large fonts, as well as Slamboree, Random Hand and Clayton Blizzard in the smaller, this year’s event is set to be an absolute banger. Not content with this however, the good shepherds at ‘Herder have busied themselves concocting yet more entertainment for you to smash your face into. One aspect of this takes the shape of two brand new, never seen before, stages; the first of which to be unveiled to the world is ‘The Fortress’.

The Fortress’ line-up includes a set by DJ Clumsy, one of the Preston Madhatters Soundsystem crew, who’ll be rinsing out the Techno for all comers as well as one of the biggest names in UK Breaks; Breaks Junky, who after a decade of supporting the likes of Grandmaster Flash, 808 State and the Stanton Warriors, will surely be smashing the decks. The headline act here though, is most definitely the Dub Pistols DJ set. The one and only Barry Ashworth of the mighty Dub Pistols will be spinning tunes and most probably featuring a special guest, given previous performances.  All contained in a 60 foot, corrugated steel construction, complete with turrets and an elevated DJ booth, this stage comes with a serious amount of sound reinforcement and will be pumping well into the night. One for the dedicated ravers amongst you, we recon!
